1885 the restaurant, located in the heart of Stainland is a distinguished yet down-to-earth establishment, that provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere with the highest quality of food and service. Run by brothers and chefs Nathan and Matthew whose ambition and hard work certainly places 1885 among the best around.

The food is superb, with dishes that incorporate the best selection of fresh seasonal ingredients of which Bob got to try for his starter. He chose Golden Beetroot served with balsamic, cream cheese and pistachios which he highly recommends. I on the other hand had the Deep Fried Brie served with Carrot Chutney that I can honestly say was the best starter I've had in a long time. For the main Bob ordered Lamb Cannon, which was lamb cooked three ways, lamb blade, crispy lamb ravioli and colcannon. Bob assures me tasted just as good as it looked. For my main I had the Sea Trout, which was perfectly cooked and presented and tasted absolutely magnificent, (both mains came with a side of fresh seasonal vegetables and potatoes).

The only problem you'll have dining at 1885 is making your mind up what you want from the fine selection on the menu, I can't wait to go back to try out some of the other dishes.

In conclusion, 1885, surrounded by picturesque countryside, is by far one of the best places to dine in Yorkshire.
