Phoenix FM is Calderdale's community radio station, a unique not-for-profit that is working to redefine who is "able" to do radio and which voices are "allowed". We strongly believe that all voices matter, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability or gender.

We currently have over 80,000 listeners per month locally via our FM broadcast plus a wider audience through our website, podcasts and the Tune-In Radio app where we have 3.4K listeners. Our global reach is 220,000, which of course includes Halifax and outlying areas stretching from Brighouse and Elland through to Todmorden.

But we are so much more than "just a radio station"...

We have several ongoing projects, supporting our community and helping local people. We work closely with special needs schools and give people with disabilities the unique chance to broadcast. We provide an alternative education for local young people who cannot cope in mainstream education, training them in radio broadcasting. We value all members of our community, visiting care homes and giving the elderly and vulnerable adults a chance to have their voices heard, combating isolation and loneliness.
