Right from the moment we entered Il Gusto we were greeted by warm and friendly staff, which reflected the overall ambience of the restaurant, making it an ideal place for family gatherings (it's typically Italian being very family friendly) as well as groups of friends to the romantic dinner for two.

We selected from the Early Bird menu which is great value at just £9.99 for two courses.

To start, Gemma had the deep fried mozzarella in breadcrumbs with a tomato and basil salsa whilst I selected the BBQ ribs with Chinese spices. Both of these were a great start to the meal, my ribs were so tender I didn't need a knife to separate the meat from the bones!

On to the mains. Gemma selected a Vesuvio pizza, which is tomato, mozzarella, spicy Italian sausage and jalapeño peppers. Very traditional pizza base and more than enough for one! I chose Pollo Mio - pan fried chicken breast with pepperoni, diced potato, garlic, onion and finished with a white wine and Napoli sauce.

Il Gusto is fine authentic Italian cuisine and very good value for money. They have full a la carte and lunchtime specials as well! Visit their website for the menu and booking details - Buon Appetito!
