Mystery Trip
A mystery trip was planned for all the presenters and staff at Phoenix Radio. Having no idea of where we were going, we kept guessing and wondering, even until the day we went!
On the coach they got, and soon they were whizzing along the M62 eastbound, so they knew they were going either to York, the north east or the east, Skegness was mentioned as well.
They stopped off at a country inn just outside York for breakfast. While having breakfast, Megan (Tea For Two and Country Collection) wanted some salt, and she picked it up, nothing came out, looked at it wondering if it was blocked, and there was no bottom to it!
They passed through Pickering where there was a 1940s weekend, and they wondered if they were going to that. Going through Heartbeat Country, playing 60s music, they felt a bit of nostalgia! It was great!
Heading towards Whitby, it could've been one of three places... Redcar area, Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay. They headed into Whitby.
They then split into groups to do their own thing, some went to the pub, some went shopping in the small independent shops, while Megan, Kath, Trevor and Gary went wandering to the historic parts.
These pictures show the day out in Whitby.
On the way back, they stopped off at quite a posh village pub in Bishopthorpe in York. A fantastic dinner was had there and they all wanted to come back again.
It was a great day, and we all want to do another Mystery Trip!
