Syhiba is situated on Wharf Street, the main route through Sowerby bridge. It has a vibrant and friendly almost party atmosphere with welcoming front of house warmly greeting diners as they arrive.
This is undoubtedly a popular restaurant, so much so that on a Friday and Saturday it's first-come-first-serve as bookings aren't taken. Unusually, there's no alcohol on offer but the good news is you can take your own and there's no charge for corkage, I even saw people ferrying back and forth to the pub for pints of beer!
The food was an extensive mix of traditional favourites and specialities including a good vegetarian selection - my only regret is that I couldn't sample the lot!
I had the Masala Fish as a starter which was quite simply delicious whilst Megan chose Mushroom Pakora with the same verdict.
To follow the entrées I had Lamb & Spinach Balti and Megan plumped for one of the specialities - Shahi Korma - a mouth watering chicken dish which is, quite rightly, labelled ' highly recommended' on the menu. We accompanied our meals with nan bread and mushroom rice. Everything from the the time we entered, the service, the food and atmosphere were superb. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough and I for one will definitely be going again. - Bob Tipton
