Tea Party

Phoenix FM have joined the Halifax group of Contact The Elderly, a Sunday afternoon friendship group which unites willing hosts, drivers and elderly people for a monthly tea party.

As we have no steps, having easy-access facilities and lots of friendly staff and volunteers here at Phoenix, we have joined up as hosts, and Sunday October 5th saw our first party here - the second ever for the new Halifax group of this nationwide organisation.

As it happened, one of our Sunday afternoon presenters couldn't make it in, so the guests got more than they'd bargained for - as well as a meal and a chat, they all ended up working with Sara to put together and present an hour's radio!
