Vinvolved project

Tune into Volunteering with Phoenix Radio

Phoenix Radio has received 3 years funding from V Involved to create volunteering opportunities for young people aged 16-25.

How about volunteering for a full time FM radio station?

Phoenix Radio, based at Dean Clough in Halifax, broadcasts 24-7 to Calderdale and you could be a part of it.

Volunteering opportunities include:

reporting on local issues and events.

assisting in production of shows

interviewing local groups

creating a show piece for our Youth Programme

Did you know that some of the top presenters that you hear on the BBC or commercial radio started out by volunteering their time with local radio.

The beauty of community radio is that it's hands on and you can get to do just about anything that you probably wouldn't get the chance to do if you were volunteering for commercial radio.

In our first quarter of the funding our target was to assist 6 young people into volunteering, in fact 19 young people got involved!
